What happened?
Your listing was removed because a VeRO participant notified us that your listing was in violation of importation laws. Specifically, the VeRO participant claims that you violated their rights when you offered one of their products for sale in a market they did not yet intend to sell in .
What is the VeRO program?
VeRO stands for “Verified Rights Owner,” and the program allows rights owners to object to listings that they contend violate their intellectual property rights, including trademark rights.
How can this be resolved?
We encourage you to speak directly with the rights owner in order to better understand their position in the matter and to help avoid future complaints and disputes.
It may also be helpful to exclude from your listings the countries or regions about which the rights owner has objected. It’s important to make clear that you won’t sell to buyers located in those countries or regions, and that you will put in place measures to ensure that sales into such regions do not occur.
What you can do to create successful listings:
• In your listing, don’t include the countries or regions that the VeRO participant objects to.
• Make it clear that you won’t sell to buyers located in those countries or regions. Use language like, “I cannot sell this item to members who live in .”
• Don’t include those countries or regions in the Sell Your Item form.
• Don’t offer worldwide shipping.
It’s your obligation to make sure that you don’t accidentally sell products to countries or regions that the VeRO participant has objected to.
